2018 season is over and we are sold out of asparagus. Our 2 acre field is turning out the first vegetable of the season and it tastes great!!
You pick or we pick. We offer both pick your own berries and already picked berries to accommodate all of our customers’ needs.
Weather- We are now open for picking. This is the best crop we have had in several years!!!
Varieties. We currently grow three varieties of June bearing strawberries in our 2.4 acres of strawberry fields. To whet your appetite, here is a description of our favorite:
Jewel – A mid-season variety with large, firm berries with superb flavor. Excellent for fresh eating or freezing.
When picking… the bright red berries without any white on the tips are the ripe ones. Remember that, unlike other fruits, strawberries will not continue to ripen after picking. Choose shiny berries with a nice “strawberry smell.” Be gentle and try not to squeeze the berries! If possible pinch off the stem just above each berry and try not to separate the berry from its green cap. Pick thoroughly and try not to kneel on the unpicked berries!
Nutrition. Strawberries are among the top 4 fruits for exceptional nutrition and antioxidants! They are packed with vitamin C and anti-cancer power. Consume strawberries to power your way to improved health!
